Animal Body Swap: Sibling Bonding Time…

Jake was halfway through his show when he heard the scratching. He turned just as his older sister, Emily, crawled into the living room on all fours, tongue out, panting.“Emily…?” he asked, frozen. She barked, then lunged forward on top of him and licked his mouth and face “What the hell?!” He jerked back, heart pounding. She wagged an invisible tail, innocently shaking her butt on top of him, her expression wide-eyed and eager. Then he saw it. Their golden retriever, Max, was sitting in front of the hallway mirror, staring at its reflection with an unsettling stillness. Its brown eyes weren’t just confused—they were human. And then, the smell hit him. Burnt plastic. Burnt wires. It was coming from the bathroom. Jake jumped to his feet, mind racing. Emily had been drying Max after his bath earlier, laughing about how “a little blowout would make him fabulous.”Oh no…they must have—Emily barked again, her curvy butt wiggling, drool on her chin. Jake slowly turned back to Max, whose lips barely moved as he let out a single, trembling incoherent attempt:“…Help.” Jake exhaled. His parents wouldn’t be home for hours. This was a disaster. A total, unfixable disaster. Or was it? For years, Emily had been too bitchy to hang out with him. Now? She was practically begging for attention. He smirked. Sorting this out could wait. Grabbing Max’s old leash, he opened the back door. “C’mon, girl.” Emily in Max’s body barked in protest as he locked her outside. Finally, some quality sibling bonding time.
